The first specimen was lot 607 in Jean Elsen sale 141 (Brussels, June 2019), where it sold for €140 (about US$186 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRABANT, Duché, Charles II (1665-1700), AR demi-ducaton, 1673, Anvers. Premier type. D/ B. enfantin à d. R/ Deux lions ten. une grande couronne au-dessus de l'écu du roi, orné du bijou de la Toison d'or. Rare Pièce d'épave, avec traces typiques de corrosion marine. Beau à Très Beau. (duchy of Brabant, Charles II, 1665-1700, silver half ducaton of 1673, Antwerp mint, first type. Obverse: infant bust to right; reverse: two lions bear a large crown over the royal arms, adorned by the jewels of the Golden Fleece. Rare, salvaged, some corrosion. Fine - Very Fine.)"

The second specimen was lot 597 in Jean Elsen sale 148 (Brussels, September 2021), where it sold for €500 (about US$709 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[2] noted,

"BRABANT, Duché, Charles II (1665-1700), AR demi-ducaton, 1673, Anvers. Premier type. D/ B. enfantin à d. R/ Deux lions ten. une grande couronne au-dessus de l'écu du roi, orné du bijou de la Toison d'or. Rare. Très Beau. Provient de notre liste 133, juin 1991, 349. (duchy of Brabant, Charles II, 1665-1700, silver half ducaton of 1673, Antwerp mint, first type. Obverse: young bust right; reverse: two lions support the crowned arms of the king, decorated with the Golden Fleece. Rare, Very Fine.)"

The SCWC does not list this date altho a photo of it is shown attached to the half ducaton of Philip IV (KM 73).

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 16.24 g, 0.944 fine silver, the first specimen 15,09 g, the second specimen 15,98 g.
