This specimen was lot 25610 in Heritage sale 3019 (Chicago, April 2012), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Brabant. Philip IIII gold 2 Souverain d'Or 1644, AU Details NGC (surface hairlines), Angel Face mintmark, lightly cleaned with some grainy areas in the right obverse field. Lightly toned with exceptionally sharp peripheral legends." This type is recorded for 1637-47 from the Brussels (shown here) and Antwerp mints.

Recorded mintage: 47,000 for 1643-44.

Specification: 11.06 g, 0.919 fine gold, .399 troy oz AGW.
