This specimen was lot 966 in Sedwick sale 34 (Winter Park, FL, November 2023), where it sold for $1,320. The catalog description[1] noted, "Potosi, Bolivia, gold 1 scudo, 1833 LM, NGC AU 55. Bold strike with muted luster and faint red color around details, just some light high-point wear." This type was struck 1831-40 and is one of the few affordable gold coins from this country. Assayers JL and LM are both noted for 1833.
