Goldberg sale 81, lot 2070

This specimen was lot 2070 in Goldberg sale 81 (Los Angeles, September 2014), where it sold for $246.75. The catalog description^[1] noted, "Bolivia. ½ Real, 1818-PJ (Potosi). Ferdinand VII. Gray toning. NGC graded MS-64." This is an example of a type struck 1814-25 at Potosi, Bolivia (then called Upper Peru). It superseded the bust of Carlos IV. Assayer PJ is listed for 1803-25.
