This specimen was lot 1110 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 35 (Winter Park, FL, May 2024), where it sold for $390. The catalog description[1] noted, "BOLIVIA, Potosí, bust 1/2 real, Charles III, 1775 JR, NGC AU 58, "top pop" in NGC census. Bold strike with strong full rims, light toned over muter luster (darker around details on reverse), rare grade, tied with one other (the next lot) for finest in the NGC census." Harris[2] notes that Potosi half reales of Charles III are second to Mexico City as the commonest mint. This type was struck 1773-89 without any design change. The fineness was reduced from 0.903 to 0.896 in 1786.
