This specimen was lot 1888 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 35 (Winter Park, FL, May 2024), where it sold for $192. The catalog description[1] noted, "BOLIVIA, Potosí, cob 2 reales, 1676 E. VF with full pillars, nearly complete cross, two visible dates, some tooling noted around the denomination." This type, struck 1667-1701, is probably the most common two reales cob. It is the only one that can be collected by date. Assayer Ergueta is recorded for 1651-78.
