Bolivia 1620-P T 2 reales
This specimen was lot 195 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 26 (Winter Park, FL, November 2019), where it sold for $1,130.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Potosí, Bolivia, cob 2 reales, 1620T, Grade 2. Very choice full shield with clear P-T to left, denomination Z to right and king's ordinal III in legend, clear 20 (ZO) of date outside of full cross, very light surface corrosion. Pedigreed to the Classics collection, with Fisher tag and certificate #127450. Recovered from Atocha, sunk in 1622 west of Key West, Florida." This type was struck 1605-21, throughout the reign of Philip III. Dates were added in 1617; even so, many are so crudely made that the dates are not legible.
