Bohemia 1573 thaler Dav-8057
This specimen was lot 5260 in Sincona sale 4 (Zürich, October 2011), where it sold for 1,800 CHF (about US$___ including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"ÖSTERREICH Maximilian II. 1564-1576 Taler 1573, Joachimsthal. Gekröntes, geharnischtes Hüftbild mit geschultertem Zepter zwischen der geteilten Jahreszahl nach rechts. Rv. Gekrönter, nimbierter Doppeladler mit gekröntem Wappen auf der Brust. Vorzüglich-fast vorzüglich. (Austria, Maximilian II, 1564-76, thaler of 1573, Joachimsthal mint. Obverse: crowned, armored bust with scepter to right divides date; reverse: crowned eagle bears crowned arms. Extremely fine to choice extremely fine.)"
This issue is noted for 1573-76. The Joachimsthal mint is in Bohemia.
