Belgium 2007 100 euro
This specimen was lot 935 in Jean Elsen sale 141 (Brussels, June 2019), where it sold for €500 (about US$663 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BELGIQUE, Royaume, Albert II (1993-2013), AV 100 euro, 2007. 175e anniversaire de la frappe de monnaies en Belgique. Ecrin et certificat. Flan poli. (kingdom of Belgium, Albert II, 1993-2013, gold hundred euro of 2007, 175th anniversary of the Belgian mint. Includes box and certificate, Proof.)"
Half ounce commemorative gold coins (100 euro denomination) were struck for different topics 2002-14 and, prior to that, in the 5,000 franc denomination. The Brussels mint, of course, is much older than the 1832 foundation noted on the coin, being established by the Spanish Hapbsburgs early in the sixteenth century.
