This specimen was lot 1341 in Jean Elsen sale 144 (Brussels, March 2020), where it sold for €250 (about US$330 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BELGIQUE, Royaume, Albert II (1993-2013), AV 50 euro, 2006. 400e anniversaire de la mort de Juste Lipse. Flan poli. (kingdom of Belgium, Albert II, 1993-2013, gold fifty euro of 2006, 400th anniversary of the death of Justus Lipsius. Proof.)"
This NCLT honors Justus Lipsius (1547-1606), classicist, translator and philosopher. This design was also used on KM 255 (silver 10 euro).

Specification: 6.22 g, 0.999 fine gold, 0.20 troy oz AGW, 21 mm diameter.
