This specimen was lot 1335 in Jean Elsen sale 144 (Brussels, March 2020), where it sold for €630 (about US$830 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BELGIQUE, Royaume, Albert II (1993-2013), AV 100 euro, 2005. 175e anniversaire de la Belgique. Flan poli. (kingdom of Belgium, Albert II, 1993-2013, gold hundred euro of 2005, 175th anniversary of the kingdom. Proof.)"
Belgium separated from the Netherlands in 1830 and has successfully maintained her independence since despite her involuntary participation in two world wars.
