This 25 centiemen was struck for kings Baudouin I and Albert II of Belgium, 1952-2001. All dates are common. A nearly equal quantity were struck with Dutch legends (KM 149.1). Some dates were struck only for collector sets (1989-90, 1995, 1997, 1999-2000). A miner from Belgium's now vanished coal mines is depicted. A similar design was used for the twenty centimes of 1953-63 (KM 146). Belgium joined the euro in 2002 and all the franc coinage is obsolete.
Recorded mintage: 10,320, 000 plus 9,590,000 with Dutch legends.
Specification: 2.75 g, bronze, 19 mm diameter, plain edge.
