This specimen was lot 74161 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2023), where it sold for $80. The catalog description[1] noted, "BELGIUM. 50 Francs, 1958. Brussels Mint. Baudouin I. PCGS MS-65. A silver commemorative of the World's Fair held in Brussels in 1958, depicting the iconic Brussels city hall in the Grand-Place. French language variety. A very attractive and superior example of the type with satiny luster softened by time and champagne toning." This type was struck with French legends (KM 150.1) and Flemish legends (KM 151.1). A rare variety exists for both types where the coins were struck with medal alignment (KM 150.2/KM 151.2) which, of course, we are unable to show here. The two languages were used to appease regionalist sentiment.

Recorded mintage: 476,000 including KM 150.2.

Specification: 12.5 g, 0.835 fine silver, 30 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: KM-150.1.
