Jean Elsen sale 141, lot 824

This specimen was lot 824 in Jean Elsen sale 141 (Brussels, June 2019), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"BELGIQUE, Royaume, Léopold Ier (1831-1865), Cu 2 centimes, 1851. BRAEMT F. avec point. Très Beau à Superbe. (kingdom of Belgium, Leopold I, 1831-65, copper two centimes of 1851, engraver's signature with dot. Very Fine - Extremely Fine.)"

This type was struck 1833-65 in large quantities but most dates before 1845 are scarce in nice condition. This date is also known without the dot in the engraver's signature (KM 4.4).

Recorded mintage: 2,407,000, a fairly common date.

Specification: 3.6 g, copper.
