Steve Album Auction 53, lot 2912

This specimen was lot 2912 in Steve Album Auction 53 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description^[1] noted, "BAVARIA: Otto, 1886-1913, AR 2 mark, 1896-D, a well struck lustrous near mint state example, PCGS graded AU58." This is a slightly scarce date of a common type struck in 1891-1908, 1912-1913. It superseded the gulden from before unification.

Recorded mintage: 492,131.

Specification: 11.11 g, 0.900 fine silver, 28 mm diameter, .321 troy oz AGW, reeded edge.
