This specimen was lot 583 in Sincona sale 6 (Zürich, May 2012), where it sold for 200 CHF (about US$246 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"DEUTSCHLAND Bayern, 1806 Königreich Ludwig II. 1864-1886. Gulden 1869. Vorzüglich-FDC. (kingdom of Bavaria, Louis II, 1864-86, gulden of 1869. Extremely fine to uncirculated.)"
This type of 1866-71 is fairly common and is the last gulden issued prior to unification. After 1871, this coin was replaced by the two mark.
Recorded mintage: 122,000.
Specification: 10.6 g, 0.900 fine silver, .306 troy oz ASW; this specimen is 10,55 g.
