This specimen was lot 2363 in Sincona sale 19 (Zürich, October 2014), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Kronentaler 1819. München. Fast vorzüglich. (choice extremely fine.)" This type of 1809-25 is common. Also struck during Max's reign were convention thalers (Dav-551, 28 g, 0.833 fine).
Recorded mintage: 286,575.
Specification: 29.34 g, 0.868 fine silver, .819 troy oz ASW; this specimen is 29.57 g.
