This specimen was lot 3438 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €1,900 (about US$2,486 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BAYERN, HERZOGTUM, SEIT 1623 KURFÜRSTENTUM, SEIT 1806 KÖNIGREICH: Maximilian I. 1598-1651. Reichstaler 1640, München. Mit römischer Jahreszahl. RR Vorzüglich. (Germany, electorate of Bavaria, Maximilian I, 1598-1651, thaler of 1640, with Roman numeral date. Rare, extremely fine.)"

Maximilian I was the first duke of Bavaria to hold the electoral dignity.
