This specimen was lot 3411 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €4,600 (about US$6,020 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BAYERN, HERZOGTUM, SEIT 1623 KURFÜRSTENTUM, SEIT 1806 KÖNIGREICH: Maximilian I. 1598-1651. Doppelter Reichstaler 1638, München. Mit römischer Jahreszahl. RR Zainende, vorzüglich. (Germany, electorate of Bavaria, Maximilian I, 1598-1651, double thaler of 1638, Munich mint, date in Roman numerals. Clipped, extremely fine.)"
