Bavaria 1632 thaler Dav-6076
This specimen was lot 3435 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €2,000 (about US$2,617 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BAYERN, HERZOGTUM, SEIT 1623 KURFÜRSTENTUM, SEIT 1806 KÖNIGREICH: Maximilian I. 1598-1651. Reichstaler 1632, München. Von großer Seltenheit. Feine Patina, sehr schön-vorzüglich. Die Exemplare von 1632 weisen einen kleineren Durchmesser auf, so auch dieses Stück. (Germany, electorate of Bavaria, Maximilian I, 1598-1651, thaler of 1632, Munich mint. Very rare, fine patina, very fine to extremely fine. The issue of 1632, including this example, have a slightly smaller diameter.)"
Maximilian I was the first duke of Bavaria to hold the electoral dignity.
