Bavaria 1618 thaler Dav-6064
This specimen was lot 4929 in Künker sale 386 (Osnabrück, March 2023), where it sold for €1,200 (about US$1,551 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BAYERN, HERZOGTUM, Maximilian I. 1598-1651. Reichstaler 1618, München. R Attraktives Exemplar mit hübscher Patina, sehr schön-vorzüglich. (duchy of Bavaria, Maximilian I, 1598-1618, thaler of 1618, Munich mint. Rare, attractive example with handsome patina, very fine to extremely fine.)"
This scarce type was struck 1618 and 1620. The date is in Roman numerals. The similar Dav-6063 has a slightly different shield on the obverse and the Madonna on the reverse has a different pose.
