Batthyani 1764 ducat Fr-552
This specimen was lot 1869 in Sincona sale 38 (Zürich, May 2017), where it sold for 1,200 CHF (about US$1,439 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Batthyani, Fürstentum, Karl Josef, 1764-1772 Dukat 1764. Wien. Sehr schön. Fassungsspuren und Kratzer. (Holy Roman Empire, principality of Batthyani, Charles Joseph, 1764-72, ducat of 1764, Vienna mint. Very fine. Mounted and scratched.)"
This scarce type was minted 1764, 1765 and 1770. A thaler (Dav-1182), five ducats (Fr-551) and ten ducats (Fr-550) also exist. This specimen realized more than the catalog value even in its damaged condition.
