Sincona sale 102, lot 5049

This specimen was lot 5049 in Sincona Auction 102 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 425 CHF (about US$641 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Basel, Stadt und Kanton, Taler 1669, Basel. Gutes sehr schön. (Switzerland, canton of Basel, thaler of 1669, Basel mint. Good Very Fine.)"

This type was struck 1669 and 1676 and the 1676 is the scarcer date.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 28-29 g, silver, 38-40 mm diameter, this specimen 28.08 g.
