The first specimen was lot 5028 in Sincona sale 35 (Zürich, October 2016), where it sold for 1,100 CHF (about US$1,306 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Basel | Stadt Doppeltaler o. J. (1670). Selten. Gutes sehr schön. (city of Basel, undated double thaler. Rare, Good very fine.)"
The second specimen was lot 3454 in Sincona sale 23 (Zürich, May 2015), where it sold for 1,500 CHF (about US$1,884 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[2] noted,
"Basel, Stadt, Doppeltaler o. J. (1670). Selten. Fast vorzüglich. (city of Basel, double thaler without date, rare, choice extremely fine.)"
The SCWC lists this undated type for the eighteenth century but we respect the opinion of SINCONA, who live in Switzerland.
