This specimen was lot 5045 in Sincona Auction 102 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 2,000 CHF (about US$3,015 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWEIZ Basel, Stadt und Kanton, Dukat o. J. (um 1640), Basel. Selten. Gutes sehr schön. (Switzerland, canton of Basel, undated ducat, circa 1640, Basel mint. Rare, Good Very Fine.)"
The presence of the imperial eagle on the reverse dates this to before 1648, when Basel and the rest of Switzerland left the empire by the terms of the Peace of Westphalia.
