This specimen was lot 1317 in Aureo y Calicó sale 423 (Barcelona, December 2023), where it sold for 480 € (about US$622 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Joan II (1458-1479). Lleida. 1/3 croat. Rare. MBC [very fine]." Juan II (Catalan: Joan II; 1398-1479), called the Great (el Gran) or the Faithless (el Sense Fe), was King of Aragon, Valencia, Mallorca, Sardinia and Corsica and count of Barcelona from 1458 until his death in 1479. As the husband of Queen Blanche I of Navarre, he was King of Navarre from 1425 to 1479. Juan was also King of Sicily from 1458 to 1468. His son, Ferdinand II, married Isabella of Castile and unified Spain. Lleida is also known as Lerida in Spanish.
