Sincona sale 100, lot 1052

This specimen was lot 1052 in Sincona Auction 100 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 10,000 CHF (about US$15,072 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DEUTSCHLAND Baden, Grossherzogtum, Friedrich I. 1852-1907. 5 Mark 1902 G, Karlsruhe. Entwurf und Stempel von C. Schnitzspahn. FRIEDRICH GROSHERZOG VON BADEN. Kopf links. Rv. DEUTSCHES REICH 1902 Gekrönter Reichsadler, unten (Stern) FÜNF MARK (Stern). Sehr selten als polierte Platte und in dieser Erhaltung. Prachtexemplar. (Germany, grand duchy of Baden, Frederick I, 1852-1907, five mark of 1902, Karlsruhe mint. bverse: head left; reverse: crowned imperial eagle, value below. Very rare as proof and in this condition. NGC PF65, Cabinet piece.)"

Recorded mintage: 42,708 plus proofs plus 50,024 of the anniversary commemorative (Dav-534) plus 128,100 of the bust right (Dav-535).

Specification: 27.77 g, 0.900 fine silver, 38 mm diameter, lettered edge.
