Baden 1893-G 10 mark
This specimen was lot 3232 in Sincona sale 43 (Zürich, October 2017), where it sold for 250 CHF (about US$298 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Baden, Grossherzogtum, Friedrich I. 1852-1907 10 Mark 1893 G. Karlsruhe. Sehr schön. (Germany, grand duchy of Baden, Frederick I, 1852-1907, ten mark of 1893, Karlsruhe mint. Very fine.)"
Altho Baden was not a major issuer of coins prior to unification, its issues during the Empire (1871-1918) were substantial. The Baden mint at Karlsruhe (mintmark "G") struck minor coins during the Empire and afterward until today. This type was struck 1890-1901 and is common in circulated condition.
