This specimen was lot 46052 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Oklahoma City, OK, August 2025), where it sold for $168. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRIA. 50 Schillings, 1959. Vienna Mint. PCGS PROOF-66 Cameo." Shown, but not named, is Andreas Hofer, who led a revolt against Napoleon, who had forced Austria to cede the Tyrol to Bavaria. The revolt received no support from Vienna and was eventually crushed and Hofer was executed. This format was used for circulating commemoratives 1959-73, then reduced to 0.640 fine silver thereafter. It didn't help; they stopped circulating.

Specification: 20 g, 0.900 fine silver, 33.5 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: KM-2888.
