Austria 1927 100 schilling
This specimen was lot 20135 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2019), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRIA. 100 Schilling, 1927. Vienna Mint. NGC PROOFLIKE-65. Toned in soft golden-wheat hues with original patina throughout each side. The devices are richly frosted and contrast significantly with the reflective fields. A spot of colorful patina on the 1 of the denomination serves as a convenient pedigree marker for this outstanding Gem. One of the finest survivors, this piece is numerically tied as the finest certified by NGC." This type was struck in limited numbers 1926-34 prior to the anschluss with Nazi Germany.
