This specimen was lot 33467 in Heritage sale 3038 (Dallas, January 2015), where it sold for $763.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "Franz Joseph I gold Ducat 1914 MS66 NGC. A nearly pristine example with pleasantly contrasting devices." This type was struck 1872-1915 in substantial numbers but the 1915 restrike is most commonly seen.

Recorded mintage: 378,241.

Specification: 3.49 g, 0.986 fine gold, .110 troy oz AGW, 19.8 mm diameter.
