This specimen was lot 22371 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Las Vegas, August 2020), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRIA. 5 Corona, 1909. PCGS MS-64 Gold Shield. Small head of Franz Josef. This coin exhibits pleasing satiny luster and gray toning with some darker speckling in the protected areas." The large head type (Dav-37) shows a shorter neck of the emperor than that seen here. Neither are rare.
Recorded mintage: 1,775,767 plus 1,708,880 of KM 2813.
Specification: 24 g, 0.900 fine silver, lettered edge.
