This specimen was lot 1644 in Sincona sale 63 (Zürich, June 2020), where it sold for 3,500 CHF (about US$4,386 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA, Franz Joseph I. 1848-1916. 4 Dukaten 1883, Wien. Prachtexemplar. Sehr selten in dieser Erhaltung. NGC MS 61PL. (empire of Austria-Hungary, Francis Joseph I, 1848-1916, four ducats of 1883, Vienna mint. Cabinet piece, Very rare in this condition.)"
This type was struck 1872-1915 in substantial numbers but the 1915 restrike is most commonly seen.
