This specimen was lot 3418 in Sincona sale 83 (Zürich, May 2023), where it sold for 4,500 CHF (about US$6,022 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "OSTERREICH, Franz Joseph I. 1848-1916. 4 Dukaten 1890, Wien. Sehr selten in dieser Erhaltung (empire of Austria-Hungary, Francis Joseph I, 1848-1916, four ducats of 1890, Vienna mint, Very rare in this condition). NGC MS62 PL." This type was struck steadily 1872-1915 but the 1915 was restruck extensively by the first republic.
