This specimen was lot 1727 in Jean Elsen sale 117 (Brussels, June 2013), where it sold for €90 (about US$142 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"AUTRICHE, Ferdinand Ier (1835-1848), AR Taler, 1841 A, Vienne. Très Beau. (Austria, Ferdinand I (1835-48), silver thaler of 1841, Vienna mint, very fine.)"

This thaler was issued 1837-48 from the Vienna mint and is common. The Milan mint struck this type 1837-38; these are quite scarce.

Specification: 28.06 g, 0.833 fine silver, this specimen 27.98 g.
