This specimen was lot 2329 in Künker sale 439 (Osnabrück, March 2026), where it sold for €1,400 (about US$1,926 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"KAISERREICH ÖSTERREICH, Ferdinand I., 1835-1848. Dukat 1836 A, Wien. 3,44 g Feingold. GOLD. R Vorzüglich. Aus der Sammlung Kommerzialrat Dr. Herbert Wenzel, Wien. Erworben 1954 von Jany. (empire of Austria, Ferdinand I, 1835-48, ducat of 1836, Vienna mint. Rare, extremely fine.)"
This type was struck 1835-37 at Vienna and Karlsburg (E). This example realized three times the catalog value.
