Austria 1809-C thaler Dav-5
This specimen was lot 4423 in Sincona sale 34 (Zürich, October 2016), where it sold for 325 CHF (about US$386 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"AUSTRIA. Franz II. (I.), 1792-1835 Taler 1809. Prag. Vorzüglich. Leicht justiert. Originalglanz. (Empire of Austria, Francis I, 1792-1835, thaler of 1809, Prague mint. Extremely fine, light adjustment marks, original luster.)"
This type was struck 1806-10 and is slightly scarce. This is the only issue from Prague. Thalers were struck to this standard until 1856 then replaced by a smaller coin struck 1857-68.
