Sincona sale 83, lot 3409

This specimen was lot 3409 in Sincona sale 83 (Zürich, May 2023), where it sold for 2,800 CHF (about US$3,747 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "OSTERREICH, Franz II. (I.), 1792-1835. 4 Dukaten 1806 A, Wien. Sehr schön. Randfehler und kl. Kratzer (empire of Austria, Francis I, 1792-1835, four ducats of 1806, Vienna mint. Very fine, Edge flaws and small scratches)." This type was struck 1804-06. Unlike the smaller ducats, this denomination was struck only at Vienna.
