Sincona sale 47, lot 2086

This specimen was lot 2086 in Sincona sale 47 (Zürich, May 2018), where it sold for 100 CHF (about US$120 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Heiliges Romisch Reich, Karl VI. 1711-1740. Vierteltaler 1725, Hall. Gutes sehr schön. (Holy Roman Empire, Austria, Charles VI, 1711-40, quarter thaler of 1725, Hall mint. Good very fine.)"

The Hall mint was an occasional emitter of quarter thalers in the eighteenth century. This issue is fairly common despite being a one year type.

Recorded mintage: 11,000.

Specification: 7.20 g, 0.875 fine silver, .202 troy oz ASW, this specimen 7.03 g.
