Künker sale 406, lot 4557

This specimen was lot 4557 in Künker sale 406 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €1,800 (about US$2,362 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Leopold I. 1657-1705. Reichstaler 1690, Graz. Feine Patina, winz. Schrötlingsfehler, vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (Austria, Leopold I, 1657-1705, thaler of 1690, Graz mint. Fine patina, some planchet defects, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"

This type was struck 1690 only but is common. A closely related issue, KM 1348.2/Dav-3234, appeared in 1693.
