Austria 1682-IAN 10 kreuzer
This specimen was lot 4783 in Künker sale 441 (Osnabrück, March 2026), where it sold for €700 (about US$963 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Leopold I., 1657-1705. 10 Kreuzer 1682 IAN, Graz. RR Sehr schön. Aus der Sammlung Kommerzialrat Dr. Herbert Wenzel, Wien. Erworben 1971 von der Tiroler Münzhandlung Sigmund Werkner, Innsbruck. (Holy Roman Empire, Leopold I, 1657-1705, ten kreuzer of 1682, Graz mint. Very rare, very fine.)"
The thaler was in the mid-seventeenth century equal to ninety kreuzer, making this denomination one-ninth thaler. This denomination was also struck at St. Veit (KM 1319) and Vienna (KM 1320).
