Künker Auction 439, lot 2274

This specimen was lot 2274 in Künker sale 439 (Osnabrück, March 2026), where it sold for €2,200 (about US$3,027 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Leopold I., 1657-1705. 1/3 Dukat 1675, Wien. GOLD. RR Kl. Knickspur, vorzüglich. Aus der Sammlung Kommerzialrat Dr. Herbert Wenzel, Wien. Exemplar der Auktion Dorotheum Kunstabteilung 255, Wien, Dezember 1962, Nr. 67. (Holy Roman Empire, Leopold I, 1657-1705, one-third ducat of 1675, Vienna mint. Very rare, light crease, extremely fine.)"

This unusual denomination was struck 1675 only along with a twelfth ducat (KM 1282). Numista states the rosette was the privy mark for Franz Faber.
