This specimen was lot 2372 in Steve Album Auction 54 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2026), where it sold for $85. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRIA: Leopold I, 1657-1705, AR 15 kreuzer, Vienna, 1659, struck with roller dies, some luster, toned reverse, crude one-year type, VF-XF." This type was struck at Vienna 1659 and is uncommon. Other fifteen kreuzer of 1659 include KM 1145, with inner circles added to both sides. The crude diework seems to be typical of the Vienna mint in 1659, as is apparent from this five ducats. One thaler was ninety kreuzer in the late seventeenth century.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 6.25 g, silver, 28-30 mm diameter, this specimen 6.25 g.
