This specimen was lot 4707 in Künker sale 441 (Osnabrück, March 2026), where it sold for €11,000 (about US$15,133 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Matthias, 1608-1612-1619. Dicker doppelter Reichstaler 1609, Wien. Von großer Seltenheit. Hübsche Patina, min. Glättungsspuren im Feld der Rückseite, fast vorzüglich. Aus der Sammlung Kommerzialrat Dr. Herbert Wenzel, Wien. Erworben 1952 aus der Sammlung H. Welek. (Holy Roman Empire, Matthias, 1612-19, double thaler of 1609, Vienna mint. Extremely rare, handsome patina, minor smoothing on the reverse, about extremely fine.)"
