Austria 1556 12 kreuzer
This specimen was lot 29 in Künker Auction 423 (Osnabrück, July 2025), where it sold for €500 (about US$708 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"HABSBURGISCHE ERBLANDE-ÖSTERREICH · RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Ferdinand I., 1522-1558-1564. 12 Kreuzer (Pfundner) 1556, Hall. Gekröntes und geharnischtes Hüftbild r., mit der Rechten das Zepter schulternd, die Linke am Schwertgriff//Adler, den Kopf mit Kopfschein nach l. gewandt, auf der Brust Schild mit Tiroler Adler, unten Reichsapfel, darin die Wertzahl IZ. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. Exemplar der Auktion H. D. Rauch 29, Wien 1982, Nr. 1961. (Holy Roman Empire, Ferdinand I, 1522-1558-1564, twelve kreuzer or pfundner of 1556, Hall mint. Obverse: crowned and armored half-length bust right, holding a sword and scepter; reverse: nimbate eagle, head left, supporting the arms of Tyrol, below, an orb with the value "IZ". Very fine to extremely fine.)"
This type was struck 1556-57. Numista shows a twelve kreuzer from the Vienna mint but it appears to be the same coin.
