CNG Triton XXIX, lot 6488

This specimen was lot 6488 in CNG Triton XXIX (New York, January 2026), where it sold for $275.62. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRIA, Holy Roman Empire. Frederich III. Emperor, 1452-1493. AR Kreuzer. Wien (Vienna) mint. Dated 1470. Double-headed eagle facing with wings spread / Long cross pattée over short cross saltire. Toned, faint ghosting. Near VF. From the Robert Levinson Collection." The first guldiners (later renamed the thaler) were struck in Tyrol and Schlick soon after this coin was struck. They were worth sixty kreuzer.
