This specimen was lot 450 in Stack's Bowers ANA auction (Chicago, August 2014), where it sold for $5,875. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRIA. Taler, ND (1521-64). Ferdinand I (1521-64). NGC MS-65. Brilliant reflectivity. An exquisite strike, with lovely frosty surfaces. The quality of this nearly five century old piece is beyond compare." This particular type is a very early thaler, struck 1521-64, and is a product of the Hall mint. Davenport lists over 130 different thalers for Austria in the sixteen century. This coin is undated but is a posthumous issue of 1573-76, according to Künker.
