This specimen was lot 6490 in CNG Triton XXIX (New York, January 2026), where it sold for $1,347.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRIA, Holy Roman Empire. Ferdinand II. Archduke, 1590-1619. AV Dukat. Klagenfurt mint. Dated 1602. Armored figure of Ferdinand standing facing, holding scepter / Crowned and collared coat-of-arms. Bent with associated crack. AU." This type was struck 1601-07 and is very scarce. Note the three digit date. Ferdinand became emperor himself on Matthias' death in 1619 and vigorously prosecuted the Thirty Years War against the Protestants.
