Australia 1990 200 dollars
This specimen was lot 72506 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2023), where it sold for $600. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRALIA. 200 Dollars, 1990. Elizabeth II. GEM BRILLIANT UNCIRCULATED. Though technically an uncirculated coin, this example offers highly reflective proof-like surfaces across the fields and devices. Offered in its original packaging, this is a magnificently attractive and engaging piece." Australia began striking NCLT's of this denomination and module with KM 71 in 1980. Various Australian wildlife were featured until 1994. This example realized only a few dollars over its bullion value.
