This specimen was lot 2016 in Sincona sale 87 (Zürich, October 2023), where it sold for 400 CHF (about US$539 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"AUSTRALIA, Edward VII. 1901-1910. Sovereign 1906 S, Sydney. Bare head. Vorzüglich, Extremely fine."
This date, from a type struck 1902-10 at Perth, Melbourne and Sydney (shown here), is common. The issues of 1907-09 are scarce.
